A Post Graduate of Journalism and Mass Communication batch of 2023–2025 from Tripura University, Abel Debbarma is a media professional, writer, researcher, and digital storyteller from Tripura, India. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Eastt Digital Media, a platform focused on stories, politics, culture, literature, ecology, sports, and people from Eastern and Northeastern India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Southeast Asia.

With a strong interest in indigenous identity, language preservation, media literacy, and digital communication, Abel has actively worked on projects related to Kokborok language revitalization, script movements, documentary storytelling, and youth-centered cultural initiatives. His academic and professional works often explore the intersection of media, society, language, and identity in Northeast India.

Apart from journalism and editorial work, he has experience in photography, digital media production, content strategy, and event organization. He has organized literary and media-related initiatives, including workshops, festivals, and awareness programs aimed at encouraging young people to engage with literature, language, culture, and responsible media practices.

Abel’s research interests include social media and language documentation, digital media ecosystems, indigenous communication systems, and contemporary media culture in the Northeast region. Through his work, he aims to create meaningful narratives that amplify underrepresented voices and preserve cultural heritage through modern digital platforms.
